Pl@za Comunitaria Educativa - Workforce Development and Training Program | |
Helping individuals increase their job skills and attain employment in today's demanding market will have positive outcomes for the individual, the family, the employer and the community. SACA’s primary workforce development partner is the Lancaster Workforce Investment Board (WIB) which allows us to participate in a collaborative network to assure continuation and growth of competitive advantages in key industries. Our role within this network is to serve as a workforce support resource that strengthens and diversifies the economic base and insures that under-served populations achieve participation in competitive economic systems. A second key partnership is our relationship with the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU-13) which ensures availability of Workforce English and English as a Second Language instruction to overcome employment and education barriers imposed by language deficits. This valuable instruction is delivered directly on site at the Plaza thereby offering a convenient, “customer-friendly” and non-threatening community resource. Our goal is to help a population that often stays on the margin of the workforce because of cultural and language barriers.
